Frequently Asked Questions
What type of jeweler are you?
We are independent jewelers offering our original designs, expertly curated estate jewelry, antique diamond watches, pre-owned high grade watches, and authentic Native American turquoise jewelry. Our full-service repairs range from simple to more complex and are completed on site. You can trust our repairs because we don't just take the order, we are the jewelers who do the work.
Do you sell national or designer brands?
No, we are not an authorized reseller of any jewelry brand. We design and create our own fine jewelry using diamonds, unique gemstones and set them in precious metals. All of our designs are handcrafted in our shop, one piece at a time. We do not duplicate our designs. When you purchase jewelry from us, it is truly one-of-a-kind.
What does 'custom jewelry' mean?
The word custom has many meanings in our profession. It usually means any type of jewelry crafted for uniqueness and often made to the customer's specifications. It can be crafted from scratch or by reworking an existing piece. On our website and in our shop, the words 'Exclusive Designs' mean it is our original work, from start to finish.
Do you send out repair work?
We are a full-service jewelry repair shop, our work is completed on site by our team of expert jewelers. Repairs and restorations are serious work and the value of your jewelry and watches is important to us. Our team will meet with you to discuss the necessary repairs in detail. Our goal is to exceed your expectations.
Can I buy jewelry from your website?
Not at this time. We built our website to function as a catalog, allowing our customers to preview current inventory. What you see on the website, is the jewelry you purchase. No waiting for it to be made. Operating a website as an online retailer adds an extra level of cost to the retailer's products. We want to keep our shop personal by meeting our customers and keeping our costs as low as possible.
Do you offer alternatives to diamonds?
We do. When a customer asks for a diamond alternative, it's important for us to know the reason for the jewelry. Moissanite is our favorite alternative and it's gaining in popularity. Moissanite is second only to diamonds on the Mohs Scale of Hardness and comes in vibrant colors that rival colored diamonds. Some of our jewelry is made with both colorless and colored Moissanites. There are several colored gemstones that work as alternatives, but they might not hold up to daily wear like a diamond or Moissanite will.
What do you mean by 'Authentic Native American' turquoise jewelry?
Simply put - the real thing. We've been collecting for over 20 years from the most trusted sources in the American Southwest. Our Native American jewelry collection has been carefully curated by us to be genuine and made by Native Americans in the USA. When it comes to Native American jewelry, imitation is not the highest form of flattery. The market for authentic turquoise jewelry from Native American tribes has been fraught with fakes and forgeries for decades. Turquoise is a very difficult stone to work with and can easily be faked using a plastic material known as 'block', and sometimes genuine turquoise is stabilized with a resin material. If you're a collector needing repairs, restorations or turquoise stone replacement - our jewelers are the skilled silversmiths you need. We buy too.
Do you repair sterling silver jewelry?
Yes, we do. Working with silver is very different than gold. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. The purpose of the alloy is to harden and strengthen the silver. Unfortunately, not all alloys are the same and some sterling silver jewelry cannot stand up to the heat required for repairs. If a repair can be done on sterling silver jewelry, we can do it. Our jewelers not only repair sterling silver jewelry - they design and handcraft many of the sterling silver pieces offered in our inventory. If you need a repair, visit us for a free estimate.
